Update from foster: Barley is doing great and ready for his own furever home!!!!
He met some kitties at a recent meet and greet and didn't react when they walked by.....sounds promising for kitties and Barley to share a home.
He loves to be with people and desires to please. He is a good boy. He doesn't have much of a ball drive but he likes to play ball by himself by dropping it and throwing it, then picking it up again. He loves chew toys. He still thinks he is a puppy and needs correcting, which he does easily always watching to make sure what he is doing is ok and will stop when told no. He could use some training to be the dog he was created to be. He is very strong with a good deep bark.....big baby who loves to be rubbed and scratched all over!!!!! He is a VERY loyal dog and will make a great companion.
Some of you may remember Barley as he was shared extensively on social media.
Barley appears to have been an outside dog, and was not housebroken when we received him. His foster has worked with him and he will now pace near the door when he needs to go out.
Barley loves to play with all toys; he especially loves to toss his stuffed animals around. Barley's foster mom reports that he's not much of a morning dog - preferring to lie in and wait for the day to begin. Great if you want to sit and enjoy your morning coffee before getting your day started too. He does like to play a bit before bed, so he gets a little active about 8:30 / 9:00 pm and then calls it a day around 10.
Barley is currently fostered with a submissive female dog, another male dog, and a large parrot. He does well with the female, but the two male dogs are kept separated completely. He appears to be great with submissive dogs.
He is curious about the bird, but has not shown any aggression toward it.
Barley loves to interact with people; he loves brushing and baths, mealtimes, and treats. He likes to be petted, giving "kisses", and putting his head in a lap. He likes his bed next to his foster mom's bed.
