This gorgeous long haired tabby boy is about 8 years old and currently living at a vet clinic with his best buddy Bandit (see pic).
Boxer has tested positive for the Feline Corona Virus so he must be an only cat, or he can go to a home with another virus positive cat (like his buddy Bandit!).
Feline coronavirus (FCoV)is a common infectious agent, spread by fecal-oral contact and/or inhalation. Most cats can clear the viral infection after exposure and have no evidence of disease. In a small number of infected cats, the coronavirus can mutate and cause FIP, an inevitably fatal disease causing immunosupression and multi-organ dysfunction.
Most cats infected with coronovirus show no signs of disease. The cats can live completely normal lives if the virus does not mutate into a virulent form.
Boxer is a super friendly guy who gets along great with feline-friendly dogs. (FCoV is not transmissible to dogs.)
He is otherwise healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
If you'd like to give Boxer (and perhaps his buddy Bandit too) a loving, indoor-only home forever, please contact the VCA College Park Animal Hospital in Cypress at 714-827-6861.
