Briggs is quite a handsome boy. You can see his partial Doberman heritage when you look at him but his demeanor is quite different. Briggs is a very shy and soft-natured fellow who is still working on building his confidence. When he’s in familiar surroundings with his fellow dogs and people, he is a happy-go-lucky, playful, extremely loving pup, but he is reserved and uncertain in new situations and with new people. And that is why this sweet boy is still with us – he just doesn’t show people his true personality when he is out and about to meet people. It’s sad because Briggs loves his people to pieces once he is comfortable with them. He wants nothing more than to be in your lap and is as loyal and loving as you could ask for in a dog. And we haven’t even mentioned how smart and eager to please he is! Briggs is housebroken and crate trained and would be a wonderful candidate to learn more tricks.
Briggs will likely never be a real social, “out and about” kind of dog but he will make a great homebody to snuggle up with. Ideally Briggs would have a fenced in yard and a dog buddy to play with. He is appropriately submissive with other dogs so he gets along with pretty much everybody. Briggs is a young boy so he will want his playtime every day before snuggling up with you at the end of the day.
Briggs was rescued from a rural shelter by Pawfect Match in November of 2012. He would have been adopted many times over by now if everyone could see him as we do. Wouldn’t you like to be the one who finally gives this boy his own home? Until someone takes the time to get to know him and allow for him to adjust to his new life, he will continue to wait. And a good homebody like Briggs sure deserves a home to call his own!
