Please note that since TAGS is a smaller volunteer program, we are limited to adoptions within the Durham Region area. We encourage those applicants who apply outside of the area to check your local shelters and rescue programs. We are always happy to refer you to a program in your area.
This is the look of pure happy! Stretched out comfortably on the grass, smiling widely, bold, black and beautiful Chaco has his soft, golden eyes on you. Saved from a high-kill shelter, he has been breathing the fresh air of freedom, and whether it’s dashing through the snow or sprinting across the yard, he is energy paws-onified.
Despite his size, Chaco, who thinks of himself as a lap dog, is extremely affectionate, loving and loyal, gives long, slurpy kisses, and loves cuddling with his foster mom. He gets along with most dogs, walks well on leash with the help of a Gentle Leader, and is good in the car. Crate trained, but never fully obedience trained, what Chaco needs now is a home without other pets, where adopters experienced with “alpha” dogs will patiently work to provide him with all that he’s missed. Their reward: one deserving dog’s fur-ever loving and loyalty. Not to mention those sweet Chaco kisses!
