Whether you want to enjoy Austin's outdoorsy atmosphere, or kick your feet back and relax, Choko is ready and willing to be your pal along for the journey. His excitement when there is a frisbee in your hand goes to show his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his playfulness!
Energetic Choko does not just get along with people! Choko plays well with other dogs and used to live with cats. He also got along with a mini-pig on a play date once. It takes a little while for him to warm up to people, but soon enough he will be jumping for joy and leaping for frisbees!
Although he is the adventurous type, Choko is also crate-trained and responds very well to rewards. He knows sit, down, come, and stay, and answers to his name. He likes learning new tricks and playing games. He walks well on his leash and is up for adventures on the Lady Bird Lake trail. Choko has high energy and would be perfect as a running buddy on the Austin Boardwalk or for playing catch at Zilker on a warm afternoon. After an outdoor adventure, Choko would love nothing more than to relax next to a loving owner and drink some water.
Choko is lively, outgoing, and full of zeal. He loves being pet and having his belly rubbed. With his beautiful tan fur and deep brown eyes, Choko is a lovable dog looking for an equally loving home. As he can be a little rowdy, he needs an adult-only home. He would likely do best as your only dog, but he could do well with a well-matched canine companion in a family with experience managing multiple dogs.
All APA adoptions come with free behavior assistance through APA's behavior team. And remember, when you adopt a dog from APA, you are saving not one, but two lives - the life of the dog you're bringing into your home, and the next dog APA can save in the adopted dog's place.
