Chomper, aka Chompy, has been with us for two years now. He is a great dog. Good with the kids, other dogs, and cats as long as they are okay with him. He has good manners which he usually receives complements on when he has been boarded during our annual vacation.
Lately he has become a bit of an escape artist, which is why we are looking to see if we can find a living situation that would better suit him. He currently has unrestricted access to our large yard with a wooden privacy fence that he has learned that he can chew through. The fear is that now that he has learned that this is possible and has begun to escape I fear for his safety as well as our other dogs. He needs a loving home with a stronger type of fence or at least one where he can always have supervision when allowed outdoor access.
He does not immediately go for the fence, in fact he may go for days or weeks without ever thinking about it. Typically this is only a problem when he hears strange animals on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately we seem to have a lot of visitors that fall into that category.
Chompy has a very calm demeanor and just wants to be friends with everyone. He is crate trained and house trained and would like nothing more that to hang out with you. And if you call his name just right, he'll even give you the cutest smile!
If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $225.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
"This handsome dog is a participant in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so their ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM."
