Waiverd Adoption Fee for this handsome fella!
Poor Dewey came to us in March of 2014 when he was found hanging out in the cold with no place to call his own. A real character with an inquisitive nature and a “take-charge” attitude, Dewey soon became a favorite with staff and volunteers alike. Sadly, not long after he arrived, he developed a case of painful swollen lips. Our vet diagnosed him with a food allergy, and he has been on a special diet ever since. His condition seems to be under control now, though he does have the occasional flare-up whenever he’s able to sneak food from one of the other cats. Due to his special needs as well as our great affection for him, we made Dewey one of our resident cats and he has enjoyed his time here with the JSAC staff. If you’ve visited the shelter, you may have even seen him lounging in the lobby or stretched out on top of the desk. Even though our shelter staff devotedly takes great care of our resident cats, Dewey needs to find a home to call his own. A relatively young and energetic boy, he would particularly enjoy a family who will allow him to run and play, and who will also be attentive to his special dietary needs. Please consider opening your heart and home to this very special boy. He just might be the brand new love of your life!
*Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.
