Approximate Weight: 15 lbs

Say hello to Elsie! Elsie and her pups come to the DC area from way down South! She was a great mom to her pups but now she is ready for some love and special pampering of her own! Like a lot of southern woman, Elsie likes to play coy! She is apprehensive with new people at first but warms up very quickly. She loves to be around other dogs and especially her best doggie friend Blue Belle (also looking for a forever home). Elsie LOVES to go for long walks and does great on leash. She would be a great hiking partner or jogging partner. Elsie is extremely smart and athletic, if you are looking for a great dog to do agility, fly ball, frisbee, etc., then this sweet gal is PERFECT! She's wonderful with kids and dogs, not sure about cats. Leesie is looking for a home with a secure fenced yard to play in, but it's not required if you can exercise her enough. She enjoys sitting and looking out the window and relaxing in the AC on hot days. Leesie is a quiet gal and is a true gem...she would love to be your forever best friend!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and our transport costs.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/?page_id=64 or email YvetteG@K-9Lifesavers.org
