Finley was in poor shape when he arrived in foster care after being rescued from a shelter. He had trouble walking and running, and it was determined he had patella luxation in both knees, which required surgery. Fortunately, being just a youngster (1-2 years old), he healed quickly and is now doing very well. He still may not be the fastest dog around, but he can now run and play without pain or falling. Finley is just a little guy, at 13 lbs., and he has a very timid nature, so he needs a family that understands that it will take some time to build his confidence to the point that he feels like part of the family. Happily, he is food motivated so that helps, and in his foster home he now will seek out attention and actually comes and asks to sit on the couch beside his people. Finn loves to play with other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog in residency to help show him the ropes. He seems a bit too interested in the cats, but a quick reminder is all it takes to keep him from bothering them. He is working on mastering housetraining and does well if he is kept on a schedule. Due to his shy nature, loud or wild play by children would probably cause him additional anxiety, and he needs a securely fenced yard because he doesn't yet accept being leashed easily. Once Finn gets comfortable in his surroundings, though, he shows what a great, lovable guy he truly is! Please check out more of his pictures at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/finley.
