Gaia is a special little 8 year old with special needs. She was surrendered with limited medical information, but we do know that she had surgery in 2008 to repair a ruptured disc, and experienced partial paralysis in her back legs, which she has lived with ever since. However, since entering foster care, Gaia has been in an intensive therapy program to strengthen her atrophied legs, and this has significantly improved her mobility. She can now walk and even run, but not for much distance. Gaia does a relatively good job of going potty outside, but wears a diaper at night in case of overflow. She gets along well with the other dogs and the kitties in the household, and plays often. She has spunk and a can-do attitude, and tries sooooooo hard to do everything the other guys do. She is an all-around tough and determined little girl who is also affectionate and shows her appreciation with love and kisses.
