Harley was born approx 2011. He was rescued from the shelter. He was picked up as a stray with a badly damaged left eye, which had to be removed surgically.
Once you have gained Harley's trust, he wants nothing more than to be in your lap or be held in your arms. To gain his trust and love, you will need to allow him to come to you and any new people in his life. Once he knows you and your people, he will go from one lap to another... with his squeaky toy in his mouth. Harley is known to go from one volunteer lap to another during adoptions. He is a little lap hoarder.
Luckily it doesn't take much to gain his trust and love, just a little bit of time and understanding and allowing him to make the first move. He is good with women, he is ok with men as well, though it may take him just a tad longer to waddle on over and sit on their feet. He will be ok with respectful children over the age of 12.
He is not aggressive, but he does have some occasional fearfulness. BUT luckily his fears are becoming less and less an issue with him. His new owners will still need to respect his boundaries and yet not be put off by his occasional 'tough guy' act. He is crate trained, he is treat motivated, and he walks ok on a leash. He does best with dogs his size.
Harley really just wants a 'person' to love and love him back unconditionally.... with some treats thrown in for good measure....
