Janis rests way up high or hides in a cubby or under a bed. She does not yet let people get near her. Even though she currently does not want to sit in your lap and be petted, that doesn't mean she won't change her mind eventually. We've seen shyer cats turn around with time. Some slow blinking, soft voices, and calm, gentle energy, might plant a seed in Janis's mind that will get her one step closer to human contact and affection in the future. Janis was born in 2002 and came from a shelter that shut down in Oklahoma. She's gets along just fine with other cats, which is great, since she has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Since it's only passed through deep bite wounds, Janis is just fine to live with other cats. If you have the time and patience to win her over, she's sure to steal your heart.
