Born 10/2013 FeLV positive. Hello My Name is Luna and I am Feline Leukemia positive. I was 5 months old when I was found abandoned in an vacant, very cold garage after my owners left me when they moved out in February 2013. After giving the Pingree Grove Police a good workout catching me, I was brought to AHS. You see my former owners did not treat me very nicely, I was either hit and kicked or had things thrown at me. I was never held, snuggled, cuddled or petted, so I did not know what it was like to be loved. I was classified as a feral kitten but I was really just terrified. My chances of ever finding a real home was not good and on top of that I have Feline Leukemia which makes it even harder for me to find a home. It took several AHS staff to hold me so that they could check me over. I scratched, hissed and spit at them and even tried to bite them, but they did not give up on me. They called in my Foster Mom to take a look at me and she said she saw hope and would take me. She was not sure if she knew what she was getting into but off I went. You see I do not trust humans because of the way I was treated but she has been very patient with me she tells me daily that she is going to take good care of me and show me what love is, and that no one is ever hurting me ever again! I look at her with untrusting eyes but I see something I never knew before. I am not sure I want any part of it just yet but she tells me she is not going anywhere and I will have a home with her for as long as I live. You see with Feline Leukemia I am not expected to live a long life like normal kittens/cats. If I get past 4 years I will be very lucky! I keep watching her when she comes to feed me and clean my box -- she sits in my cage with me and tries to get me to see she is OK. I have let her get a bit closer and she has touched me. I am not sure how to feel about this but it does feel way different than what I have ever known and kind of nice! And I love having food when I am hungry and a warm place to stay with my bff Grey who also has FeLV. Adoption Donation $75. All cats are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, FeLV/FIV tested and started on Heartgard Plus; Frontline Plus. Please visit the website and fill out an online application and then come on out.
