Mama Heart Video!
Mama Heart got to go to work with a volunteer on June 26, 2015, here is a video: Mama Heart Goes to Work!
Bunny ears. Satellites. Bat ears. Antennae. Call them what you want, Mama Heart's ears are impressive. Not only do those ears give her a singular look, but they also make hearing you super easy. Mama Heart just started her training and uses the oversized organs to listen carefully to commands. A quick and eager study, she's highly motivated to work for food.
Saved with her seven puppies over Valentine's Day in a humane rescue, Mama Heart is still waiting for her forever home, where she needs to be the only dog. House and crate trained, this affectionate girl has yet to meet a person she doesn't like. Practically a puppy herself (she's about a year and a half), she will learn all of her manners soon enough.
With those ears, her cinnamon-colored coat, and ochre eyes, this regal mama looks like a Pharoah Hound, one of the oldest domesticated dogs around. She could also be part shepherd and continue to grow into her ears. Any growing she does, however, will be out rather than up, and she'll remain a medium-sized dog even after she adds a few pounds to her 40-pound frame. She's the perfect size for cuddling on a lapa favorite pastime of hers.
Energetic and clever, Mama Heart will do best in an active home with people who are willing to add enrichment into her regular routine; for example, she enjoys solving doggy puzzles, happiest when she has a task in front of her.
If you can open your home and heart to Mama, she'll bring her smarts, her affection, and unlimited entertainment and photo ops courtesy of those ears.
