Martha came to us as a stray and was very emaciated, anemic, dehydrated, sick and very frail. She was possibly the 2nd worst baby we have ever had had like this. Martha went into a foster home who could watch over her 24/7. She took her water thru a syringe and had to be hand fed small amounts several times a day. She had a severe liver, gall bladder and pancreous inflamation causing her to have extremely high fevers requiring cold baths every few hours for over a week. With the help of our vets and her very dedicated foster family, Martha made it thru the month, although it was touch and go for a while. It was difficult for her to stand and walk but she had some spirit in her and wanted to be well.
And well she is!! She is very friendly and tail waggly and happy to be clean, flea free, feeling good and now relaxing in a soft bed. She has become quite spoiled with all the attention to save her life and can be quite demandy for her meals, snacks, pets, and her toys. She is quite a fiesty little thing and has been known to relocate her dog bed out of it's crate and argue with it, as well as march her playpen down the hallway if she feels she is bored and decides it is time for a walkabout. She is simply a marvel, all full of spunk and determination and completly charms everyone with her huge spirit all contaned in her teeny body! She is an active senior girl who does not know her own age and plans to be the center of attention! She is mostly housetrained and uses the doggie door when she can. Martha is ready to find her new home where everyone will appreciate what a spirited little senior she is and wrap themselves quite nicely around her tiny paw!!
