Naoki (formely known as Neeko) was surrended to a local animal shelter by his owners. Naoki, and his two doggie companions, escaped the owners backyard a few times. We don't know for certain how they escaped, but the owner said Naoki dug under the fence. And while the trio were intimidating running at large, they did not hard any person or animal. The owners decided that Naoki was the mastermind behind the escapes, they were sick of being fined by AC, so they gave him up.
Naoki is a BIG boy, he came to ARMAC in early March weighing about 86 lbs., but at a healthy weight he would be around 105 lbs. He's very friendly, enjoys interacting with people, loves going for car rides and overall is a very nice dog. He lived with children ages 17 and 3, so we belive he is good with kids. But given his size, and his active nature, he may be better suited for a home with children over the age of 7. He walks very well on leash (which is a big plus given his size).
If your interested in possibly adopting Naoki, please see http://akitarescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for complete details on how our adoption process, including meet and greets, works.
