Peanut was pulled from the Vermilion Parish Rabies Animal Control on August 6th and was placed in boarding because we did not have a foster home for him. That is where he was when the flood waters came. He almost drowned. Peanut had to be rescued by wading in chest deep water. When they got there you could only see his snout and he was clinging to the gate of the kennel to save himself.
He was placed into a temporary foster home where we discovered he didn't get along with the the female dog in the house. So once the water went down, he was brought him right back to the cell where he almost drowned. We cannot imagine how he must feel.
Peanut has a great personality and does well with male dogs. We feel once he is able to be neutered, he will be a fantastic pet.
