Name: Raleigh
Status: Serious injuries from being hit by car. Urgently needs donatons! Getting emergency surgery 5/22 to try to save her leg. See update below.
Donate via this link.
Probable breeds: Shepherd mix (tail docked 6/18/15 due to her injuries) Sex: Female Approximate Age: 6 years Approximate Weight: 50 lb Good with cats? Unknown, no cats here to test with. Good with dogs? Unknown, too injured to test right now. Bio: Raleigh was hit by a car and has two serious fractures in her left hind leg as well as very serious wounds. She's being taken in for emergency surgery now to try to save the leg. Unfortunately there is a lot of tissue loss on the bottom of the foot (not pictured) & there is a very large possibility the leg cannot be saved. This is a 6 year old female dog, who has lived a live of misery from what I have been told. The owner does not want the responsibility of her bill and I have now taken her into my care. Any donations would be ever so greatly appreciated. Right now the estimate is $2,000. You can donate via paypal @ or via this YouCaring link.

5/26 update: Raleigh's leg isn't doing so good. The tissue has poor coloring and it is sloughing. She will go in for another surgery tomorrow to remove more dead tissue in hope of saving her leg. She was friendlier today and did let me pet her but just has this look in her eyes like "please don't touch my leg." I'll go back tomorrow after work to see how surgery went and to see my girl.

6/19 update: Raleigh had her tail amputated yesterday. Poor girl has been hit by a car twice, didn't get any medical care the first time, was abandoned by her family, almost lost her hind leg, is completely incontinent & has had 4 surgeries now including two wound debridements and now the loss of her tail- yet she is still so loving. Unfortunately she is still not using the injured leg though doc says the new X-rays look good, so hopefully she just needs more time. Hoping to visit her today.

7/22 update: Raleigh is starting to show improvement with incontinence! She's now holding urine long enough to be taken out to potty. Feces improvement as well! She's doing great on recovering. Needs to walk on the leg more though. She is walking on it occasionally, especially when going to the bathroom...she'll lean on it more then to keep her balance. We are hoping beyond home that this sweet girl eventually makes a full recovery!
