Ray reminds his foster mom of a teenager. He thinks he’s still a cute little kid who can bat his eyelas hes or give a cute tilt of the head and get away with all sorts of mischief, but Ray is 3 years old and approximately 50 lbs., and should be beyond the adorably goofy and untrained puppy stage. Like all teenagers, Ray’s behavior will improve because he’s a super smart, eager-to-please love bug who, other than his abundant energy, is a sweet loveable young man.
Ray will need an active family who can help him run off his youthful energy. He is incredibly athletic and would make an exceptional agility dog with the proper training. He runs with the grace, speed and agility of a Cheetah on an open plain. His vertical jump from a standing position is amazing (he glides over obstacles but doesn’t jump on his people!). We can easily see him sailing through a tricky agility course with ease! Ray is also a master of sticking his snout into thick brush and pulling out a baseball!
Ray was picked up as a stray and sadly his people didn’t come looking for him. He is very healthy and has a gorgeous silky coat so we are sure he’s wondering where is his family who took such great care of him? Ray has been microchipped, neutered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. He shows no food aggression, and is great with kids, cats and dogs. He is very willing to please and is motivated mostly by verbal praise and behind-the-ear scratches. “Good boy!” is music to his ears! He does like to play-wrestle so a doggy sibling should be an active participant! Ray loves chew toys, rawhides and stuffed animals. He’s crate trained, housebroken and doesn’t stray from his foster people when off leash in the yard. Ray is a great sweetheart of a dog who needs a family that will help refine his energy and athleticism and teach him how to be a beloved member of the family that he’s just waiting to be.
