Handsome Small Adult Wobbly Cat DSH Brown Tabby WIth Black Male (and his twin sister)
Romeo is a very handsome small 5 yr old neutered male DSH Brown Tabby with black stripes. He is very loving and enjoys attention and to play. He needs to stay with his twin sister, Juliet. They are Special Needs due to having Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cats with this condition are very wobbly and therefore often called Wobbly Cats. They make wonderful companions. Their intelligence is normal and their condition does not cause them pain, only balance issues. They are vulnerable so they must have padded environments without tall furniture or stairs. Carpet helps them grab on for balance as well. This condition has been known to improve a bit when they settle into calm, stable environments. Stress makes their condition worse. They typically live long and healthy lives and because they are a bit more dependent on their humans, they often build very strong bonds with their guardians. They have great “catitude” and possess incredible determination. Romeo came to us with his twin sister, Juliet, who also has CH (caused by in-utero exposure to Feline Distemper) from a shelter they were going to be put down because of their condition. Once we rescued them, they were quickly adopted, but their adopter passed away and they were alone for quite some time and traumatized. They are doing incredibly well considering not only their condition, but also what they've been through in their short lives. Romeo is incredibly sweet and enjoys attention. Romeo loves to have you snuggle his face and give him lots of kisses. He does not care for other cats other than his bonded sister and they stress him out too much to be around. They tend to not eat enough when they are stressed, so their eating habits will need to be monitored as well. They should not be around dogs or younger children at all. They should only be around calm, older, cat-friendly children. A Home Inspection will be required prior to adoption. They are currently in foster care, so please call the shelter (303) 274-2264 to meet this sweet, pretty little young lady and her twin brother.
