Hi, my name is Rudy! I am very affectionate and can be quite talkative. I’m a fastidious groomer and would never dream of using the restroom outside of the litter box. Some cats like to stretch and scratch on furniture, but I’m perfectly content with a simple scratching pad. If you enjoy laughing, try pointing a laser toy on the ground and watch me chase it. Such great exercise and lots of fun!
I’ve survived some harsh times. I was living outside at a scrap metal yard in Newark up until this past winter. No one knows why I was abandoned, but I learned to live with a colony of feral cats and a dog. I was also able to charm the humans nearby to give me food from time to time. In December, I was rescued and brought inside. It took some time to remember my indoor manners after having to defend myself for so long, but now I feel safe, secure, and loved.
I am FIV positive. This is not contagious to people or dogs – only other cats, and only through deep bite wounds. In a safe environment, those kinds of bites are highly unlikely. There is no problem with sharing litter boxes or water bowls. I currently live with other cats that don't have FIV with no problems. My foster mom just monitored us carefully at the beginning, but she soon saw I am not much of fghter :)
I can’t wait to find a permanent home of my own. I get along with dogs and other cats, although need time to adjust, so please provide proper introductions. I’m even patient to wait my turn during feeding time! Fill out an application to take me home today!!
