9/15/2011 Sheldon has been diagnosed with Wobblers syndrome which causes some problems with coordination and continence. His ideal home needs to be one with at least one other dog, as he can get a little nervous if left alone. A doggie door is a big plus, so Sheldon can get out to potty "when nature calls". His adoptive family needs to be a caring family who is prepared to deal with possible problems should his condition worsen. We feel that acupuncture would be wonderful for this little guy. Please consider giving Sheldon the chance that he deserves to have a wonderful, loving family all his own! 11/30/09 I need a family! My name is Sheldon and I have been staying with a family in North Ga for the past seven months. They treat me good and I have a big yard to play but they also have five other dogs. I would do so much better in a home with only one dog where I could get all the attention I need. Sheldon is a very sweet boy who loves attention. He sleeps curled up in the chair at night. Sheldon stays in the back yard with our seven yo female weim on nice days. He has learned to crate on rainy days and rarely has an accident. Sheldon does not have great control over his bladder/bowel due to some problems suffered before WRS saved this poor boy. When the need to "go" hits him he has very little time to act. Sheldon has done a Great Job dealing with this and will zoom outside or bark to open door. Sheldon is a very well behaved wide-eyed boy. He has a very strange gait when he runs after his ball. Sheldon is a loving boy and very unique weim. Sheldon will steal your heart if given the chance. 6/14/09 - Sheldon is a sweet, small weim. He knows basic commands and comes when called. He loves to chase balls or rocks, but then he likes to chew on them instead of returning them. He is well behaved inside and knows how to use dog door or bark if he needs out. Sheldon was in rough shape when he came to rescue, but he has persevered and is a happy bright eyed boy looking for a loving home. Sheldon does great with other weims, but tends to get snippy with males when they are running, so a home with a dominant male would not be a good fit. Sheldon sleeps in the chair at night and does not let the fact that it is taken by another keep him from his spot! Sheldon is a very smart weim and just wants the love and attention of a foster/forever home. 2/02/09- We had the pleasure of petsitting Sheldon last night at the Hanson household. I can safely say he will be fine with small dogs. Cooper growled at him, popped him on the nose with his paws and Sheldon just turned his head! Sheldon is real cuddlebug, he hopped right on the couch with me, Presley and Cooper and settled right down for a nap. He has the sweetest face, he hangs his head down low and opens his eyes really wide, it is so endearing. 1/13/09- Sheldon started his heartworm treatment today. 1/8/09 We're getting to know Sheldon at our house this week. He's getting along GREAT with all our pack. He's got a lot of growing to do if he's going to catch up with his eyes :) Downside: He weighs in at 49 pounds and is 3 yrs old. He is painfully thin. . . his little hip plates stick thru his skin along with every rib and spinal disc...and he's heartworm positive. UPSIDE : He's just a LOVE and loves to eat and has LOTS of energy. Walks fairly well on a leash and plays fetch like there is no tomorrow. He even gives back the toys after he fetches them!!
