Let me introduce myself, my name is Sprocket and I am a stud. When you first see me I might come across as shy and perhaps look a little rough around the edges. But there is a perfectly good explanation for that; see, I am about 3 years old and for many months of my short life, I have had some pretty rough experiences. Now these are parts of my life that I have chosen to forget, but people see them all over my body.
Good fortune came my way when Eleventh Hour Rescue saved me from the streets in Jersey. They cleaned me up and made sure I was on the road to recovery.
Then I met my foster parents and their furry crew. I fell in love instantly with Iris, a 60 pound boxer mix! We have so much fun together and I really look up to her! I also met four cats (including China, my foster parents' Eleventh Hour foster kitty). I am not so sure about them yet and my foster parents only allow me strict supervised visits when they are in the room...see sometimes I don't care much about them and other times I get a bit fixated. My foster parents are working with me on appropriate ways to interact with these felines...in the meantime if my future parents do not have the time to keep us separated or closely supervised, it may be in everyone’s best interest to find me a home without kitties.
Back to the first time I met my foster parents; I bonded with my foster mom immediately. I was not so sure about my foster dad…or any men for that matter. After a few days living in my foster home and with lots of love, encouragement, and treats, I fell in love with my foster dad as well. I am a bit cautious meeting new people, but my foster parents take me to a lot of places and I am making progress! I love my foster grandparents, aunts, and uncles! On my walks if people introduce themselves slowly and calmly, I enjoy their affection and pets!
I have met a few other female dogs and I enjoy their company! I do get overwhelmed when I am around a large group of dogs so a dog park is not something I would particularly enjoy.
I am learning that this home life is a really good thing-some activities that I love are: fetch with tennis balls, playing with toys, eating….I REALLY love eating, going for walks, playing with my foster fur-sister, and my number one favorite activity is snuggling with my foster parents! I sleep in a crate at night and when I am home alone. I won’t lie; this is not my favorite thing. I like my crate better now and go in on my own, but I really miss my foster parents when they leave. I used to cry a lot when they left, but with their patience and giving me proper exercise, I am adjusting to their routine. Making sure I get exercise has helped.
It is obvious I have a lot to say, but the most important thing is that if you take the chance on me and mold me into your perfect little pittie, I will be loyal and devoted to you! I have so much love and pittie kisses to give! If you would like to meet me, please complete an adoption application & be sure to mention my name - SPROCKET!
