THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING FOR FRIENDS TO THE FORLORN PITBULL RESCUE INC. IN DALLAS, GA. www.savingpitbulls.org
Stone was originally adopted from Douglas County Animal Control when he was a small pup. That family gave him to another family who then gave him to a third family and he ended up at Fulton County Animal Control. He was next in line to get put to sleep at the shelter and we rescued him from there on 2/17/14. Stone was born around 8/2012 and is about 1 year and 8 months old. Stone weighs 76.8 pounds. He is one big playful puppy. He is now in a foster home in Dallas, GA. Our best guess is that he is a Great Dane/American Bulldog mix. He loves to play ball and fetch - still working on getting him to bring it back. He loves toys and walks OK on a leash but does pull and is super strong. He needs basic obedience training to discourage jumping and basic manners. He would do best in a home with older children (16+) and he has encountered cats at his foster him and chases them but has not hurt them. We expect him to do fine with other dogs (around his size as he does not seem to understand his strength) and we are working on slowly introducing him to others. He does have a strong urge to chase cars and needs a strong dog experienced handler. He will need a 6 foot privacy fenced in yard or a family that will leash walk only. He may take a little time to warm up to new people but once he does he will be right by your side forever.
He is a real beauty. If you are looking to rescue a dog that needs some obedience and training and are willing to learn and work together with him we know he would be a stellar dog.
Stone is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, fecal tested negative, heartworm negative and microchipped. Adoption Fee is $195.00.
