Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-Bull

Estimated Date of Birth: March 6, 2008
Size: 106 lbs

We got a call from Animal Control at 5:45PM regarding an 8 year old Rottie that had been diagnosed with a horrific case of Pyometra. Taffy was mircochipped, however she had been stolen from her owners over 3 years ago. Her owner had since moved out of state and did not want Taffy. Pyometra is a horrendous infection of the uterus and requires an emergency spay if the dog has any chance of living. We rushed Taffy to our vet, who stayed incredibly late into the evening in order to save Taffys life. Special thanks to New Hope Animal Hospital in Dallas!
Taffy is 100 lbs of very happy girl who enjoys nothing more than being near you and getting love. She loves everyone and does well with adults and children. She shares a foster home with several pitties, an older French Bulldog and a senior miniature dachshund. She is very social, very fit and in excellent health. Her foster mother said she was crate trained and fully housebroken from Day 1. When outside she does her business and then enjoys running and playing with the other large dogs, especially FTTF foster, Mama, but is always happy to come back to you for attention and petting! Like many Rotties, Taffy can be a talker at times and can use that vocabulary to try to wheedle you into extra attention or treats! She loves to chew on big, hard Nylabones and will occasionally be a little rumbly if she thinks someone else wants her bone, however, she has never gone further than that. She responds well to corrections from her foster parents and has the smarts to look chastised when scolded, lol! Occasionally she shows heightened interest in a small dog, especially if it acts nervous or barks a lot around her although she is fine with the 2 small dogs in her foster home. She does exhibit some prey drive and for this reason is not suited for a home with cats. Taffy would be an ideal companion for someone who is looking for a larger girl who is a sweet and affectionate companion. Her foster mom says she is pretty much the perfect house dog.
