(9-28-07) Rosie is a gorgeous Chocolate and White colored Staffordshire and wants to be the sole object of your attention. She was found as a stray with her puppy. The people that found her in Arlington had to find her another place since she did not get along with their female Rottweiler mix. It was probably due to being jealous of attention.
Rosie loves to go for rides, give kisses, and settle in your lap. If you see her teeth, don't be alarmed because she loves to smile. She also likes to hunt when outside, so she would probably not be good at a home with cats. She has done well being paired up with a male as a play mate, but not a female dog for some reason. She was also being obedience trained by the people that found her, and is also micro chipped.
She has too much energy and gets excited to be around small children - she also starts nipping. She needs a person that can finish obedience training her, give her the space she needs to run off the energy she has, and stay firm with her when she doesn't follow the rules. She tends to bolt out a house door when opened, so she needs to be trained to stay inside until given permission to go outside.
She has been adopted 3 times so far, but has not found the right environment for her yet. Each family has loved her very much, but were not able to deal with her energy. She can chew through a plastic pet carrier, so a black wire crate would probably work better. She will need to be crated if left alone.
She is very petite in size, so you wouldn't think she is very strong, but she is stronger than she looks when she is being walked on a leash, so a harness is best when she is walked so she doesn't choke herself.
