It’s nice to meet ya, my name is Travis. I am a 4 year old male greyhound, but I am not a retired racetrack greyhound—I still love to jump and run though! I also love to be lazy and cuddle in my big comfy bed and blankets. I am picky about the dogs I like, because sometimes they can scare me, especially larger male dogs. But, I like to consider myself a ladies man, as I get along with some of the other female dogs here at the rescue.
Because I am a greyhound, I require some special care. I would do best at a home where I can run around freely in a fenced in yard because I am a hound and can get distracted easily by squirrels and other animals. I also get very cold in the winter since I have little fur, so I would need an owner who wouldn’t mind putting a coat on me when I go outside in the winter and is attentive to how cold I can get.
Travis was brought in as stray, he is not a racing greyhound. He is so sweet and loves people. (NO CATS or small dogs). Travis walks great on a leash, loves to be cuddled and get treats. Travis would be good in an active family or a causal one that just likes to go for walks also.
